Major Movement in the UL International Crown Team Race

The Kia Classic will be a crucial tournament for teams to make up ground or extend their lead in an effort to qualify for the UL International Crown. The field of eight countries will be determined by the combined Rolex World Ranking of the top four players from each country as of the Rolex World Rankings published on April 4th, 2016.

After the JTBC Founders Cup last week, there was major movement in the team standings with Team Thailand moving into the fifth position while China catapulted into the seventh position thanks to Yuting Shi’s win on the CLPGA Tour and 24-point jump in the rankings. As a result, Team Australia slid into the eighth position while Team Sweden now sits
ninth and on the bubble.

Heading into this week at the Kia Classic, the performance of Team Australia, Sweden and China will be a must-watch as the three teams battle it out for the final two spots. Below are how the standings currently shake out:
